A lot of people ask me who takes my photos. There’s actually few answers to that. Majority of the time, my Aunt and I will shoot once or twice a week somewhere downtown/whyte ave. Other times, I have anyone who is around me or whoever I’m with to take the picture. If I don’t have anyone with me, I just use my tripod and I take it myself. Honestly, it works just as good, if not better than someone else taking it. You can get a bit more creative and you can take your time with it. What i love about this method is I am in complete control. I’m the model, the photographer, the writer, the editor for my blog. No one is watching (except for Gabe) and I’m more comfortable to create the vision I have in my mind. So If you want to start a blog and outsourcing for a photographer is not an option for you, here are some tips on how I get my photos for my blog.
Equipment I use
Camera I use a Canon 6d. I started with a Canon T3i years ago and switching to a full frame camera last year was like night and day with my photos. If your’e a beginner, I can also recommend a Canon T6i or the Canon 80d. They both have their advantages! I suggest researching what will work best for the type of photography you will be doing!
Tripod Invest in a good one. I use the Manfrotto Tripod Befree and it’s so versatile for what I use it for. It’s lightweight and can be folded to be packed into a bag. Yet It’s so good with a heavy camera and I’m not afraid of a little wind to tip over my camera when I’m outdoors.
I hope you enjoyed learning how you can take photos for your blog today! These are just my tips and what works for me.
